The Foundation periodically makes travel grants to enable promising individuals to
attend international conferences, or to study at overseas universities. It may also make
grants to individuals for other worthwhile activities.

Sophie Burns: Travel grant
Sophie is studying singing at Monash University, and in 2009 won a 'Song-a-thon' contest
in aid of the 'Creative Connections' program at Bethlehem Hospital. The prize was to be a trip to London to
attend a concert in Covent Garden, and to stay with a classical music teacher. However the promised
sponsorship fell through, so the Foundation paid for her airfare.

Erica Rasmussen: To attend Winter Music Creative Residency
in Bannf, Canada
Erica studied percussion at Melbourne University, and for a semester at McGill University in 2005.
She is currently studying for the Degree of Master of Music (Performance) in percussion at Melbourne University.

Allie & Jane were initially sponsored by the MND Association of Australia to attend the
conference in Berlin, and the Foundation gave them an additional grant to cover other expenses
